SUPPLYING DEVICES TO DISPLACED ISRAELI CHILDREN IN EVACUATION CENTRES

4u2gr0w offers English, Mathematics, Studies of Religion tutoring in groups of 4 – 12+ to a range of grades in Australia. In 2023, the 4u2gr0w Hebrew School was established offering Hebrew to those students in public schools where the subjects are not offered at their school.

4u2gr0w Founder and CEO Shirley Snoyman, who herself has decades of experience in teaching Mathematics students, reached out to Israeli evacuation centres established because of the current war with Israel to offer services and support to Israeli children, parents and teachers.

In addition, through contact with other support providers, 4u2gr0w partnered with Operation Golda to send extra suitcases with travelers with a letter for customs outlining this was for humanitarian aid which allowed the pre-loved devices into Israel.

Israeli residents from various regions currently under attack from consistent rocket fire and incursion threats have evacuated to centres that have been set up around Israeli cities. These families no longer have access to their own schools and equipment necessary for continued education. 4u2gr0w is currently connected and engaged with 3 of the Education Inspectors of the Ministry of Education in Israel representing evacuation centres in:
1. Haifa
2. Tel Aviv / Natanya
3. Herzliya

We have also sent devices to the Municipality of Merhavim where there are 17 evacuation centres.

17 laptops and iPads with a headphone and a charging cable for each device plus a wireless mouse for each laptop were sourced and sent to Israel. These have been directly provided to the inspectors of the evacuation centres through support from 4u2gr0w technicians on the ground.

The 4u2gr0w Advisory Board and Operation Golda thank the following schools and organisations for donating their pre-loved technology hardware to 4u2gr0w so that these could be deployed to those who lost theirs in the Oct 7, 2023 atrocities and the ongoing war in Israel. The use of these devices will be put to the test in June / July 2025 where 4u2gr0w will be delivering a 3-part series on stress management to the Herzliya evacuation centre that now hosts those who lost their homes in the recent war against Iran. The course involves breathing techniques to lower the stress levels of all those in Israel, in Iran and in the diaspora and ends with a course in Laughing Yoga with the guru who invented this stress-relieving tool.
